Peruvian orphans are benefitting from the work of two
Edmonton-based sisters.

Rice have released Mirada, showcasing photos and art created during a trip to Peru.
Proceeds from the book are being donated to an
orphanage for teenage mothers, their babies and abused children.
The sisters were inspired after watching Born into Brothels –
a documentary about a photographer who teaches children in India how to
produce beautiful pictures.
“By the end of the film,” says Julie,
“Marcie and I turned to each other with tears rolling down our faces
and said, ‘We can do this!’ And our dream was born.”
This dream translated into a trip to Pacasmayo, a
small coastal town in the northwestern part of Peru, last August, where
they ministered to orphans at Casa De Paz, which means ‘House of
Peace.’
