"Follow me," Jesus said, "and you'll become fishers of men." Fishing means catching fish - not feeding, entertaining or even praying for them.

Elsewhere, Jesus talked about reaping. "I sent you to reap where you did not sow . . . Pray the Lord of the harvest to send out reapers."

Only one out of 10 Canadians has a deep commitment to a local congregation. You're part of this 10 percent. Another 10 percent are irregular attendees.

But what of the remaining 80 percent? Jesus spoke of them as "sheep without a shepherd."

How will the uncaught fish be caught, and the lost sheep be found? "Faith comes by hearing." Someone - perhaps you - needs to preach God's word to them.
