"You can take a picture of a starving child in the third world, but you can't capture a famished heart in Europe," a British pastor said. "Focused on the needs in places like Indonesia, I didn't see Europe as a mission field until I experienced it firsthand.

God revealed Europeans' hungry hearts when I spent a year teaching in northeastern France. Among the 1,700 students, I didn't know a single Christian. In fact, there were only about eight church-attending Christians in the city of 10,000."

Europe now encompasses 25 countries, and more than 750 million people. In most countries, less than one percent are evangelical Christians.
