AS I watch Wilde, my new five-year-old son, lower his milk carton boat to the surface of the creek behind our home, I think of a photograph I saw yesterday. It was an aerial shot of hundreds of Haitians seeking refuge on a boat, literally cramming every inch of the vessel.
