Rosebud, AB
Rosebud School of the Arts sits at the heart of one of
the most vibrant artistic communities in Canada, where students discover a
life of spirit-filled creativity and artistic expression. Through its
conservatory programs, Rosebud develops honest, caring and talented theatre
artists – who have the skills and the heart to make a difference in
the world.
Unique to Rosebud School of the Arts is its
affiliation with Rosebud Theatre, Western Canada’s largest rural
professional theatre.
With more than 40,000 annual patrons, Rosebud Theatre
provides students an unparalleled opportunity to practice their craft in a
working theatre – honing their skills as apprentices with
professional theatre mentors, as they prepare for a career in the
performing arts.
“Nothing will teach you like an audience,”
says Nathan Schmidt, RSA acting instructor and a frequent performer.
“Students aren’t just up there for nine shows – but for
90 shows! The young actors live on the deck in a real way, not just
as an exercise.”
Rosebud’s one-, two-, and four-year programs
emphasize personalized mentoring, hands-on training and study trips to
world-class theatre around the world – including New York City and
London, England. These opportunities are the hallmarks of an educational
dynamic available only in Rosebud.
