Edmonton, AB
Concordia University College of Alberta truly provides
a unique university experience. Located in Edmonton, Concordia offers the
best of both worlds – a small university campus located on the banks
of the scenic North Saskatchewan River, within one of the most vibrant
urban centres in the country.
Concordia offers 27 accredited undergraduate degree
programs in Arts, Education, Environmental Health, Management and Science
– as well as two graduate degrees, including the new Master of Arts
in Biblical and Christian Studies, and church work programs.
At Concordia, students experience a community where
professors know their name. A supportive learning environment encourages
students to develop their interests, discover passions, meet new people,
respect different points of view – and, above all else, helps
students understand that they can make a difference in their lives, and in
the lives of others.
With their commitment to academic and research
excellence, many Concordia graduates immediately find jobs related to their
fields of study (such as education, film, environmental health and
management) – while others move on to complete graduate and
professional programs (including law, medicine and dentistry).
Concordia students receive a well-rounded education
– and exceptional social and leadership skills, derived from their
experiences in the classroom and through campus activities. Student life
offers an abundance of opportunities, including athletics, drama and music,
as well as several student clubs and organizations.
The heart of Concordia is a commitment to the Christian
faith; we believe the Christian perspective brings depth to a
student’s campus experience. The spiritual climate contributes to an
especially supportive and understanding learning environment for people of
all faiths.
Students and professors are brought together by a
common passion to contribute to the greater good, through initiative in
their own field and meaningful interaction with others.
Concordia’s students share our enthusiasm. In
national and provincial surveys, students continue to give Concordia top
marks. In The Globe and Mail’s 2008 Canadian University Report, Concordia again scored
among the top smaller universities in Canada – receiving an
‘A+’ grade in overall quality of teaching, student-faculty
interaction and class sizes.
In addition, Concordia received an ‘A’ for
overall quality of education and students’ satisfaction with their
university experience.
Concordia’s renewable entrance scholarship
program, aimed at students coming directly from high school, guarantees an
annual scholarship – valued up to $3,750, depending on the
students’ final admission average.
The competitive President’s Leadership
Scholarship, worth approximately $30,000, as well as transfer student and
in-course scholarships, are also available.
