Gideons launch new Youth Testament . . .

The unchanging message of the gospel takes on new garb, as Canadian Gideons launch the latest design of their familiar Youth Testament. The red New Testament has been a recognized Gideon brand for 62 years – and has been instrumental in bringing hundreds, if not thousands, of people to Christ since it was first put in circulation.

Starting out as a small, dark red book in 1946, it migrated into a bright red edition in the 1970s – eventually changing to a newer format.

Now it takes on the ‘faces’ design of the popular Public Ministry Testament – a design which has caught the imaginations of Gideons and the public alike, and which we feel students from grade five through to high school will find attractive.

This new design started showing up in the hands of school students this past September, to continue the tradition of making God’s word available to our nation’s youth. Gideons remain committed to reaching Canada’s youth, and continue to seek every opportunity to do so. We are still very much involved in distributing New Testaments – with Psalms and Proverbs included – to school students across Canada.

Many school districts still open their doors for in-school distribution to grade five students. For those which don’t, in most cases Gideons distribute the well-recognized Testament to high school students on the public sidewalk.
