In December, a local Christian school’s girls volleyball team made history, to become AA Provincial Champions. This was the first time for any girls’ team from Surrey Christian School. 

The girls faced off against some of the best teams in the province, along with four other teams from an extremely strong Fraser Valley region.

Coach Lisa Verveda said: “I am not only proud to be the coach of this team because they won, but more importantly because they came together as a group of people. They share not only a passion for volleyball, but also a love for each other – and that is what makes them true champions.”

The school’s Senior Boys soccer team also put in a spirited appearance at the AA Soccer Championships. With four wins in a row, which included an overtime victory in the semi-finals, the team lost 2–1 to Sa-Hali Secondary in the final showdown.
