Historymaker, the popular youth conference staged annually by Langley-based Next Generation Ministries, will be held this year at its biggest-ever venue.
The multi-faceted event is scheduled for May 20 – 22 at the Abbotsford Entertainment & Sports Centre.
The emphasis will be on powerful music, edifying speakers and community service. The theme will be ‘Stand,’ based on Ephesians 6.
On the event’s website, organizer Cindy Stanley challenges prospective participants to take “a stand against drugs, depression, suicide, sickness, failure, broken homes & families. A stand for love, forgiveness, inspirations, success, achievement, prosperity, joy, happiness…”
Stanley told BCCN she is excited about the new location. “We are hosting Historymaker in a facility that is double the size to last year. The Abbotsford arena seats 8,500.”
The final day, she said, will be the most significant. “There will be a very big give-back to the local community. There will be great acts of kindness, goodness and blessing from the youth to the community where the event is held.”
The event is expected to draw attendees from more than 40 denominations and over 250 churches, ministries and organizations.
Scheduled musical acts include Downhere, Leeland and Group 1 Crew, as well as dancers from the America’s Got Talent top ten. The most high profile speaker will be Phil Dooley from Hillsong Ministry in Cape Town, South Africa.
